Hey guys

I'm working up a load for my 300RUM I did a ladder test at 300yards, 89.6 of Retumbo gave me the best results now I want to play with the seating depth everything I read says Hybrid bullets are not so sensitive to seating depth when I did my load test I had the COAL at 3.62 when I measured my head spacing again last night i came up with 3.710 that’s with the bullet touching the land.

Thanks for your words of wisdom...

I recently played with seating depth with Berger hybrids (7mm 180's) I did touching lands and then back 10,20 and 40 thou off, and my groups tightened up substantially at .40 thou off. I was surprised.

The consensus with the hybrids seems to be either into the lands OR 40 thou off time and time again. With my rifle into the lands works best.

I have just started with some hybrids and 40 thou off seems to be best: almost like it wants to take a slight "leap of faith" into the lands. I wonder if the "on lands" or "40 thou off" is based on that powder's pressure curve? Maybe it is the pressure behind the bullet at lands contact that needs to be in a certain range.

Make both and have fun with the trigger time. :)
