28 gauge wingshooters!

I just picked up a browning model 12 in 28 with lovely wood. It's going to be more of an informal target gun for me, but I do intend to use it for woodcock and grouse whenever a slump hits with my lighter weight bird guns. I'll be using winchester AA #8s.
 
I have been thinking about getting a 28g, I can't decide if I want a O/U or semi though. I have been looking at Rem 1100 and Browning Citori. Have any of you guys shot both? How do they compare for recoil in this little guy? I do understand that the semi should be less but how much?

I've owned both in 28 gauge and didn't notice that much difference in recoil. The Browning was heavier than the Remington so any benefits of the gas system was pretty much countered by the heavier weight of the Browning and it fit me a little better.

The Remington was nice when it worked but parts breakage was an issue. Remington quality control is not what it once was. The other consideration with an autoloader is retrieving hulls if you reload and the 28 gauge is definitely worth reloading.

My first firearm was a 28 gauge Winchester/Cooey Model 84.Still have the shotgun and it still bags game as good as it did all those years ago when both it and I were much younger,when I take it in the woods from time to time.

In the past I had a 28 gauge Remington Modell 1100.Never had any trouble with it,but I prefer my 28 gauge Franchi 48 AL over the 1100.I like the lighter weight of the 28 gauge Franchi for those days hunting afield.
