CSA VZ58 - Does anyone like their new .223?

Have a VZ and have put a couple hundred Norc .223 thru it with no issues. Changed out the butt, forend and handguard for FAB Design, makes it great with as scope as you can now get proper eye relief. Love the gun, waiting for a kit to convert to use LAR mags.

I bought one of the first ones that ever came out ... I was taken back by all the negative feed back people had for the CSA .223's. I did the gen 2 magwell and Ive only ever ran AE 55gr FMJ through mine , but it put's rounds on target with out failures day after day ....

I have non-restricted .223 Vz 58 with 200 rounds though it with out any failures. Gun works great. Side note, I was at Gone Fishing in Nanaimo on the weekend and they had a new shipped in CZ 858 on the shelf.

If no supply, prices will rocket for existing ones.
Supply and demand guys... Supply goes down, demand will go up due to the ####ty quality of csa, prices will go up exponentially.

CZ 858 are being held because RCMP is considering re-classifying them, and not allowing further imports into the country.

It is my sincere hope, that rifle stays restricted/ non- restricted, based on barrel length as the case is now.

If it becomes prohib, strange things that will happen, that have nothing to do with economics.

Basic Economic theory:

If no more are Cz858s allowed in:

prices will drop, then skyrocket, then transform into Czech koruna, then meander in a pinwheel fashion for sometime, then stabilize when Canada adopts the Cuban peso in 2015

It's good to find levity in CZ situation, me not so much.

I was just about to buy CZ 858 Canadian edition, and they pulled the rug... :bangHead:

Did everyone just ignore that I said Gone Fishing just got new CZ 858 rifles in stock last weekend? Saw one on the shelf next to a CSA Vz 58 on Sunday.
I did not ignore it, but it don't mean much other than they have got some in stock. Is Gone Fishing an importer ? Did they just import them ? How long have these particular CZ's been in Canada ?

Thats not what happened, Wolverine got a crate full of FA ones, and RCMP is wondering what happened. As for reclassification and all that, that's not necessarily true.

They're a group of 3 small stores in different towns/cities on Vancouver Island. Their supplier is Inland Pacific Distributors LTD who are CZ importers.

Its not on their website, I checked when you mention it.

They don't update their web site with current inventory. They have Kel Tec SU-16's in stock and its not on their web page. They put what they always have in stock on their web page. They always have CSA Vz 58 rifles in stock but not always CZ 858.
