I was wondering if someone could explain to me or provide a link with instructions of what needs to be modified on CZ-858 to make this adapter work.

i managed to instal the adapter on the gun without any modifications, but the mag won't go all the way in. Wolverine website says that 858s need to be modified.. i need to know how.

Please help. Thanks.

Best to send the rifle to Wolverine for their gunsmith (who has done lots of them) perform the work.
It is easy to screw up and take too much material off and destroy your feed ramp.

Could somebody post a pic or two of the milling done by Volverine,
I have a milling machine and skills, I figured it would be fun to do my self.. :)

Thanks.

Don't use that diagram, I think it's the old one and following those dimensions you will cut into the feed ramp. You only need to make space for the sides of the mag to fit in.. I don't think the feed ramp needs to be touched at all. When I got my adapter, I did the machining myself according to those old directions, and I regret it a bit now. I think they've changed how the do it since then. I've only been out to the range a couple times since , and the adapter works fine, although I think I did have a FTF when I was charging it once, but I usually put that one on myself for maybe not pulling back all the way, or easing it forward a bit or something like that. Once it was firing, it fed. When I take the adapter off at home and feed snap caps, it still seems to work, but I still really need to test it with the original mags back in at the range. I hope that .040 or so doesn't come back to haunt me. I've even though a bit about trying to restore it, but I could see that going badly, so I think I'm stuck with it.

edit: oh, I see you already did it. Did it not take a bit off the feed ramp? I'll have to dig up the diagram they sent me with the adapter and see if the dimensions are different, but when I was doing it, I did assemble it before take a cut into the ramp, and the magazine wouldn't go in all the way.

You are just few days too late.. :)
i did the cut 16.5mm instead of 17.3 and its nice and tight fit. It only touched the bottom of a feed ramp a bit, i dont think it will effect the function. Time will tell :)

I didn't find the instructions I was sent with the adapter, but I'm almost positive it was 17.3. I popped off my adapter and measured mine at 17.23mm, and like I said, I crept up on that, trying mags to see if they'd sit several times. 16.5 sounds about right for just skimming the bottom. Right now, the 2 front edges of the mag sit tight with the cut, and I even have to give it a little extra nudge when I put a mag in to get the release to catch. I wonder if they modified the adapter itself too (mine is marked Rev.00). Just for reference, my adapter measures 4.90mm from the top to the top of the mag release. I suspect yours may measure about 5.70mm. My ramp is cut back about .030 (both directions, assuming the slope is 45degrees.. a bit hard for me to measure), and realistically, looks like that's nearly half of the whole ramp. (when I'm being optimistic, I lie to myself and say it's barely over 1/4 of it ;) ) But like I said, it seems to function alright... I'd better put an extra crate through just to be sure ;)
