It's the time of year non hunters are crying that summers almost over.

Me? Bring it on.

I find I'm lost in my head reliving past hunts, walking the trails, pulling the trigger.

I've got the thousand yard stare. I'm already there....almost.

I can't wait!

Here's the view form my blind. I've been hunting here for over 30 years, same spot.

My dad found it and has been hunting the same spot for over 50 years.

I call it home, the rest of the year is just filler.

The farthest shot is 300 yards. The beaver dam on the left is 175.

I've shot moose right in front of the blind at point blank but most are shot on the dam or to the far end by the cotton woods.

Awesome pics! I also dont care for summer, the only season that counts is fall! Those pics make me want to go even more!

Looks like you guys have a hell of a set up!

Like I said we call it home, the rest of the year is just filler.

Something funny to relate.....when I was about 15 dad and the boys were having a wee dram after hunting. Eventually the bottle was emptied.

I said dad, want me to take that bottle? He says nope, there's a hole back there and he throws the bottle over his shoulder. .....clink......

I go and look and there's a hole with a bunch of scotch bottles, he hit it. LMAO

H's been hunting the same spot and drinking in the same spot for so long he just chucked that bottle over his shoulder and put it with the rest.

Like I said it's home.

Here's another young bull I shot and a picture of dad going to the blind.

He can"t walk very good anymore (he's 83) so I made a handrail for him to get down there.

I told him he's coming up there no matter what, even if it's in a pine box.

These ones look easy but this was after 2 weeks of hard hunting.First moose we saw.

Dad had a cow draw and it was half way into calf season.

Easy to recover but like I said, a lot of hard hunting, tracking and paying attention to migration went into these. I shot the calf in the head 130 yards. Handed my rifle to dad and he shot the cow in the neck.

Bang Bang.......Now the work starts.

Yes, that's a Savage 7mm rem mag
