Hey short barrelled rifle owners!

I have an 11.5" rifle that is an awesome shooter, the only thing I regretted was initially putting a big break on instead of the birdcage. Way too much concussive blast...

Edit: it is a government profile.

XCR Micro and CSA Vz58, both in 7.62x39. Love them both. I think that 7.62x39 is the perfect caliber for barrels under 10". I also have a 10.5" Bushmaster AR in 5.56, which is also a blast.

( I know, I know, the Vz's not really a black rifle...)

Scratch build using 7.5" NEA heavy 1/7 barrel, only thing that has changed since this pic is the BA ambidextrous safety lever...other than that it is GOLD!! (although might try a different muzzle device, as the Warthog throws everything downrange and disturbs no one on the line! )

Awesome! I am kinda surprised that everyone has gone with gov't profile. Why no love for a lighter profile?

For an SBR, I would have to say, a lighter profile barrel isn't really necessary. The only reason would be to save weight...

Come to think of it, I can't think of any 11.5" or shorter barrels that are lighter than gov't profile, or any 7.5" barrels that are lighter than heavy profile.

I think. People have to understand. That Gov profile is a light profile barrle.
Its skinny under the handguard and .750 forward from the gas block

"...too much concussive blast..." It'll have that anyway.
These are all semi-auto SMG's. Rifles they ain't. Toys they are. Big kid toys. Shooting as real SMG has been known to put a great big smile on certain people's faces.

Nothing fancy just an old school Olympic Arms 11.5" 5.56 barrel with irons. Even with the 2 push pins for the upper and lower it shoots incredibly well! I will never sell her had her since the 90s has never jammed.

And of course my practice fun 1022 as being forced to only practice at a range gets old FAST with an AR!!!!
Its got a factory 10".
