Improved Cylinder or Modified choke for Dlask12.5" 870 barrel–what's more accurate?

Does anybody have any experience firing both slugs and buckshot through one of Dlask's 12.5" threaded barrels with either an Improved Cylinder or Modified choke?

Although I'll probably buy both chokes to do my own testing, I'm very curious what others have to say about which one is more accurate.

Its a 12 inch shotgun! The difference is probably not going to be that huge. But I would think the modified would be a little better?

Accuracy is more likely to be affected by how well you use that Big Assed blade sight that Dlask barrels come with. They aren't exactly a precision piece of equipment

Thanks for the replies everybody - I had a feeling the consensus would say that modified would be the better of the two. I should have made a poll.

then why do trap/skeet/other target shotguns use 28-30" barells if they are not more accurate? I have seen a good shooter miss almost all the time with an 18" barell, but hit nearly all with a 28" barell with the same Remington 870. (trap)

and, not asking this in a sarcastic way, but because I want to know.

Longer sight radius, better swing. So yes, for wing shooting and clays there would be a benefit, but it all comes down to what kind of shooting you are doing. Sight radius aside (say you put some sort of optic on a long and shot barreled shotgun shooting slugs at a static target) I doubt there would be any practical difference.

Regardless of what jp says the longer barrel is more accurate
That added velocity makes a big difference when you target is more than 10 yards away

I can absolutly notice a difference between my 12" grizzly and 18.5 mpa! Its not even close!

"...modified would be the better..." Not for slugs or buck shot. Like dieseldawg says it's a 12.5" shotgun. Mostly just a big kid's toy. It ain't going to be accurate with anything.

No, I meant for slugs and buckshot. My 14" 870P comes with a fixed MOD choke...

And saying a 12.5" gun 'ain't gonna be accurate'.... barrel length has ZERO TO DO WITH MECHANICAL 'ACCURACY' in a shotgun. Chances are you (the shooter) can shoot a longer barreled shotgun more accurately (heavier, more stable, smoother swing, etc.), but the gun isn't the problem there.

doesn't it scatter sooner with the short barell too? patterning 10" wide at 10 feet with the short barell and it doesn't hit 10" pattern until much much further away with a 30" one.
