Hey Guys! I have a NP22, which I love, but since I started reloading with CCI primers I have notices a significant increase in primer strikes which do not result in discharge. The question I have is: What can I do to increase the strength of the primer strike? I have 5k CCI primers, and don't want to change back to federal primers (softer) just for one gun.

I'm assuming you have disassembled the gun & cleaned the firing pin channel. Accumulation of crud in the channel added to harder CCI primers could result in light strikes. Also check your firing pin for wear. You might also try another primer brand that is not as soft as Federal (eg. Winchester) and see if you get the same results. Lastly, are you reloading on a single stage or progressive press? I find that on my progressive I'll get the occasional round where the primer hasn't seated fully, likely due to residue in the primer pocket. S&B 45 brass also has very tight primer pockets which don't always let the primer seat fully on a progressive. Just a few things to check.

I initially thought that it was my reloading that was causing it (incorrect seating of primers) but I am using a single stage. I will pull apart the firing pin again and do a VERY thoruogh cleaning again. Is there anything else I can do?
