Eotech on a pump action?

I have an EoTech 552 on my KSG. Works great.
Are you guys serious about it being heavy? If the weight of a red dot pushes the weight of your shotgun over the top for you I suggest you visit the gym once in a while.
As far as I'm concerned a little extra weight on a rifle or shotgun is welcomed as it reduces recoil and makes it more comfortable to shoot.

Not when the weight wants to roll the gun to the side.

Wait a sec., considering the weight of the KSG shotgun the OP mentioned being 6.9 lbs empty, then with 14-15 rounds of 12 ga sitting below the the center line of the barrel, taking the loaded gun up to 8.5 lbs, I find it difficult to understand how a 10.9 oz sight sitting on top "wants to roll the gun side to side".

However, I am waiting for my KSG to arrive this week and have been debating which RDS to mount. I was thinking of an Eotech EXPS 2.0, however the Aimpoint H-1 size and weight at 3.7 oz sure has me thinking!

Regardless of which one I go with, I can't foresee either having much effect on the balance of a gun that size and weight.

Ah.................first line of the post you quoted and responded to. In particular, referring to the part of your reponse I placed in quotations!

He's not the op as you stated.......

I think we're getting off topic a bit. I was referring to the other post, by Cr5. Sorry, for not up on internet acronym lingo!

Regardless of what OP means, I think it is quite clear that I was referring to the post you quoted, to which you stated an Eotech on a KSG "wants to roll the gun side to side". The comment I was questioning your opinion.
You did state that to Cr5 about an Eotech on a KSG, correct?

Anyway, I've decided I'm going with an Eotech for my new KSG, as I'm confident it won't make a KSG roll side to side, plus it's a decent RDS. Thanks for your post and opinion Cr5.

I was originally talk about a mossberg 590A1 actually. And its not the weight that concerned me as much as the size. I cant stand guns that have tons of stuff hanging off them everywhere. Every part should have an important function that jutifies its size and weight. I was trying to decide if the eotech was worth having on the weapon system.

I originally had a eotech on my KSG but removed it and replaced it with a much lighter burris fast fire on a 1/2" riser. I've done the same with many of my black rifles as well.

Correction, I have an EOTech XPS2 on my KSG, not sure what I was thinking when I said 552.

Back on topic. I had my KSG out yesterday and at no point did it try to roll to the side or do anything other than blow the sh!t out of whatever I pointed it at. My EoTech is now a permanent fixture on there as I can't think of a better or more durable sight for it. If I had one I would consider an Aimpoint T-1 as an alternative but I like the reticule in the XPS2-2.
I was able to hit pretty much anything I pointed it at within 50 yards with rifled slugs and was very happy with the KSG/EOTech combination.
Think I'm gonna plug one tube completely and limit the other to 2 and take this out for a close range deer this fall.
Love my new toy :D

Ive used a ksg with an eotech and it wont roll to the side due to the design every other shotgun I had one on wanted to roll
And I hate you guys that have a ksg.

How does it try to roll? How are you holding it that it is able to roll? I have a couple rifles with very heavy optics on them and neither of them feel like they are going to roll over.
I earned my KSG by sitting on a stupid waiting list for a long long time.
Little expensive for a 12ga but now that I have it and have played with it I'm glad I bought it.

The KSG is cool. I shot one a few times. But if i had to grab a shotgun to defend my life id still reach for my mossberg 590A1 every time.

I feel the same with my Mossberg 500 but with a little more time playing with the KSG and giving it a chance to prove it's reliability it may become the go to 12ga.
So far it's eaten everything I've fed it. Had a couple sticky ejections with the really cheap crap from Canadian Tire but everything else was 100%.
I'm looking forward to taking it out again. Gonna bring more slugs next time though :D

Im hoping some day the price of them will drop I want one but I have a hard time payingnthe price for one when I havenso many other black shotguns

Waiting for some good weather to get it out and zero in the Eotech.
