CZ 858 update

If a gun like the CZ 858 were banned, how would they go about notifying people of the ban?
With no registry and so many of them in circulation it seems feasible to me that lots of people would never realize the gun that they paid for and have owned legally is now deemed too dangerous for civilians.

Is the cz 958 the same as a cz 2000?

This is an early prototype of the CZ 958, we are hoping to have it streamlined a little. I hope Mr. Wolverine isn't upset I leaked this.

Send a letter to every pal holder. Hoping you would comply if you had the rifle in question

I have already considered that, I could do that. I could import with the purpose of sending it to the RCMP for examination and classification, the RCMP would be working for me so I would have the report. This would take 6 months to a year. I also have to balance this action against the best interests of the 8,000 owners in Canada, to me this is more that a question of making a quick buck!

It just occurred to me - does this mean you imported x8000 858's up until recently?

Yes, with less than 500 restricted, now you can start to see the huge "hit" I have taken! and also the possible ramifications for a huge number of gun owners. You can probable add another 10,000 + for similar but different manufacture versions. I think the strongest point is the quantity "in Country" there has to be some safety in numbers. Remember we submitted samples to the RCMP for their inspection and approval before we sold the first ones and the vast majority were sold when the gun registry was in place so all sales strictly controlled by the RCMP.

Hi John,

Sorry in advance for what may be a stupid question, but popped into the FRT this morning and noted this;

So, the 'Tactical 2' version is still listed as Non-Restricted, but the 'Tactical 2V', 'Tactical 2P', and the 'Tactical 4P' are listed as Prohib due to 'ease of converting'.

Can you clarify which version you were importing, and which version, if different, you HAD been importing until this latest debacle with the CBSA?

Again, sorry for what is likely a stupid question, just not sure I understand the differences between them as the FRT lists them all as having the same barrel length's, distinguishing features, etc.

I am not prepared to comment on the FRT as I have seen to many errors. I believe a gun is what it is not what the FRT or registration may claim. I never examined the firearms in my last two shipments, I believed there had been no change from previous shipments but some people thought otherwise. I was never consulted just treated like a criminal and placed under investigation.

Last I read was the CSA manufactured rifles werent to be re classed but your statement says 10 000+ differwnt manu versions aswell.
So technically ALL version could be on the chopping block now.
FACK!!!!

Maybe I missed something but is this possibly the fault of CZ for sending you the wrong shipment? And if so can you not go after them for compensation?
