Not at all. I have acquired several collections of guns seized by the police. They were to be destroyed unless the owner could arrange for someone to take ownership. This puts some $ in the pocket of the owner and saves the guns. A triple win.
 
Beautiful gun! Do not destroy it. More pictures of it? All original? What's the story behind it/how much does the owner want?
 
Well I managed to save the 1911 from the bandsaw !! along with a Colt Frontier .22lr/22mag revolver, Colt 38spc Police 5", and a Uberti Rolling Block pistol in .357mag ! elderly gentleman from town who let his PAL lapse and had no interest in renewing = smokin deal........almost as excited as Christmas morning ...lol

Wow, this is the first I've heard of saving guns from the police. They sure don't come up on government auctions. How are we made of what guns can be saved?

These were in Police care as the owner had let his PAL lapse, they are still technically owned by the original owner not PD. Not what you know , it is who you know !!
