5.45x39 will become the new red surplus ammo as 7.62x39 is running out and ex-Soviet block nations realize that they're more likely to shoot humans than poodles and switch to something in the 6.5mm ballpark.
7.62x39 is still used and still made i dont think the ex soviet nations will rearm compleatly the ak is not obsolete its just getting its start i think untill everyone is carrying a laser gun it will not be made obsolete. if i where to go into combat id much rather have a ak then a m16 platform
That's a classical chicken/egg problem. We need at least some non-restricted platform supporting the caliber before anything else can happen. So safe to say that in and amongst all the 5.45x39 ramblings there probably isn't enough interest to bring this stuff in from a far off shore or wherever it may be?
I'm kinda with you on this, the superior design of the AK in regards to reliability, at least IMO, make it edge out the M16 or AR's, rather have a weapon that shoots every time, in any environment, clean or not, than a rifle that has more accuracy but may fail. Mag sizes being what they are for us here though does put a precedent on accuracy though. With a full sized mag I'd care less about the AR's accuracy. That's why I love the 5.45 being a sort of best of both worlds type thing.
Please name a cheap non-AK-derivative non-restricted rifle chambered in 5.45x39...bring some cheap guns and ammo, and no problem, it'll sell
Please name a cheap non-AK-derivative non-restricted rifle chambered in 5.45x39...
I guess we are many waiting for such an option :-/
Don't they make Tavor kits in 5.45? Just aren't in kanuckistan
