New height of SMLE prices...there is a 1915 BSA at collectors source listed at $2295! Guy is off his rocker...too bad because there are some interesting pieces there but man you gotta want them!

I noticed Collectors Source buys a lot of their stuff at Switzers auction and simply doubles the price.

Somehow, the items keep selling so I guess they must be doing well?

I personally haven't seen any sort of fair deal on there in years. I'm not sure who their target audience is, and to be honest most of the stuff is not even all that nice - but people are buying it.

I've got some good stuff out of them over the years, but I find the reasonable prices are few and far between...

They have alot of oveseas buyers. To bad ,quite abit of their stuff leaves the country.

I didn't know that. I thought that was more something Joe Salter does.

Anyone who actually cares about keeping nice milsurps in Canada should really consider that factor before selling to them. I'd much rather see stuff stay here - we've lost so many nice collectors pieces already.

you have to remember that nice matching, unaltered MK III's are getting hard to find.I know of one receintly sold for $1500.00.Anything under $1000.00 grab it!!Their not getting any cheaper.

I'd avoid that one lads. It's got a dowel repair where either an ishy screw or a grenade-firing re-inforcement bolt or screw used to be. the forestock is not a MkIII stock, but rather a MkI stock and has had a number of repairs, possibly a conversion to MkIII standard (india?). The butt looks like maybe threaded rods are through it to fix a crack (?).

In any event, a fair to good example at best, but they are trying to get "as-new" money for it.

This was something I noted at the big switzers milsurp auction where most of their latest inventory came from - many of those rifles were altered and messed with. Some of the rare stuff has been discussed on milsurps.ca and the outlook was not good, including the Lb sniper and laminant stocks enfields :ninja:

"...Collectors Source...Joe Salter..." Both sell only high end collector stuff. Very high end. Have to look at my No. 1 again. Might be able to live after retiring after all. Won't have any good toys though.

Collector's Source. Those two words bring minimum 20 percent above fair market value to mind. They do get the odd cool piece but I can get two decent condition SMLE's from Epps for what a fair one is there.

Hardly.

I don't know what misinformed people are buying their ridiculously overpriced wares, but if I went on the EE and posted a Carcano for $400 or a varnished ERA P-14 for $700, people would claim I was off my f**king rocker... and rightfully so.

Those prices are out to lunch.
