Anyone that thinks that everyone else has the same state of mind as they do needs to have their head checked.

I personally have a slightly abrasive personality and find it amusing that anyone would get offended at something someone else says.

It's not about him trying to offend, it's ppl taking it too seriously. I know lots of guys that seem to be having a bad day for their whole life and if you want to think it's because of you, good luck with that.

My initial question remains. If someone walked into your store and asked for info on a product, would you stand there, say nothing, wait for him to give up AND insult him on the way out???

Thats what John is doing here. If you think thats some sort of acceptable behavior due to difference in personality, you need to think again. Its disrespectful, period.

I would have laughed all the way out of the store, lol. To be honest, I thought he was drunk since he didn't even spell "marstar" correctly.

So what you're saying is we shouldn't take what the retailer says seriously? I'll remember that the next time I'm in his store, clearly the tag that says $399 isn't serious and really it just meant FREE!

Be it verbal or text conversation for the relay of information where business is CONCERNED all information should be treated as serious. Granted there are far more tire kickers on the interwebz than in any retail location, but treating the wrong customer as a simple kicker can lead to massive loss of business.

The point is, no one ever remembers you for the good you do if you #### up your visual rep.

Clinton waged and won a war with out going into debt and instead managed to build the economy, instead we just remember that he shot a load on some ugly secretaries blouse and did NOT inhale.

Kennedy stood strong against the Ruskies, but all we remember his an infamous conspiracy on exactly how he caught a bullet and that he got to bang Monroe when she was still something to look at.

Presley served in the Navy, fought the war and did massive fundraiser drives for all sorts of social problems; all we remember is the fat ##### in white leather changing the channel with a revolver and then ODing on burgers and shakes.

If you want to continue doing business with John, great. But no matter what good deeds you've done; its not a free ticket to sh*t on other people. I mean Hitler DID give the Germans health care, I guess that covered the first million in his ovens right?

9mmGuy, have you tried talking to others about the PUMA PPS? It seems to be the one that shipped in a tactical stock; looks like a magpul CRT on it too. Didn't find too much yet on google, but that seems to be the direction to look thus far.

Wow! I've never bought anything from Marstar but the way you guys rip on the owner is......well devastating. I'd be a #### to people if I got ripped on continually too.
That being said the Marstar website apears to be in dire need of a technician there are a lot of listings for stuff that no longer exists. Is ANYTHING in stock currently?

Nobody ripped on the owner before he was a jerk to the OP. So maybe, just maybe people are ripping on him BECAUSE he's being a ####, not the other way around?? Just a silly thought. If you bother to read the first posts before he answered like a jerk, all John was getting from posters was positive comments, people stating they were interested.

Purchased one item from "Martar" years ago, never again after seeing how he treats his customers. There's a reason why people rip on him, he doesn't know how to talk to people. I love putting people that don't know how to talk to other people in their place, it makes me feel good. Almost like beating up a bully, feels good.

Just received the IIC this morning, will have the exporter file for the export papers and we should see them in Canada in about 4-6 weeks....

I love it when all the fan boys come out and defend his conduct and attitude. Johnone and I had a dustup a while back and you wouldn't believe the number of idiots coming out to defend his comments. Bunch of spineless idiots fan boys are. I realize that he's done a lot for the firearms community, and I respect that. Still doesn't mean he should feel that he can treat people with such contempt. That's all I'm gonna say, I ain't gonna get into another useless debate.

If you read this thread would you mind reading your PMs too? I sent you a PM (2 actually and 3-4 emails) about replacement parts for a product I purchased from you. Realizing you're busy, being patient.
 
I'm frankly too young and too new to the whole sport/hobby, or w/e it is for you, to know Johns past actions in and for the industry. But i must admit it puts customers off from marstar after a visit to the forums.

To be fair, no one had ripped on John in this thread until his comment dismissed the customer entirely. And it was a very dismissive comment. And Johnone has had trouble with his site for a looooooong time. I do remember reading some messages from him that were well thought out and expressed his frustration on dealing with the site. IIRC he does not host or maintain/build the site himself; meaning he's paying someone else to do it. And that person has caused lots of head aches. Then there was a very long period where the site simply did not work at ALL. I can completely understand his frustrations there. I don't understand why he didn't change web masters sooner; and I do wonder why he hasn't looked into face lift for the site yet; but I suspect he is not overly concerned with the smaller sales. He does move a lot of the larger distribution stuff which is why he's able to have cheaper prices for some stuff than others. Or because his data base side works so well for him and he doesn't want to see change to that side. You can run into trouble with crucial business tools when they're tied to a website and you're trying to keep everything going.


Why don't you make a new thread with this very question, see how John answers, and just how long you'll be on his side :rolleyes:

Sometimes I wonder why John doesn't hand over the Forum side ((here CGN)) to someone else; I know he's not a one man operation. There's gotta be someone that can handle the Forum section for him. I do not blame him for getting short with members at times because let's face it, he's far from being alone if we started counting people being an "***hole" on here. ((I'll even throw my hand up there)).

That's CGN though. People tend to confuse complaints of service with personal attacks on Johnone ((or any retailer to be honest)). Which is really sad; there have been MANY more incidents where a thread is started by customer with complaint, and retailer actually comes in and reads the complaint. Then makes a response with options and follow through happens. I've seen this so many times, but we don't tend to remember them. Instead it was "that guy's an #######, because I bought this 2 years ago and loved my experience, so clearly the retailers not wrong you are." And then it falls into a bunch of insults between members further dividing our community.

John, keep your answers this professional, maybe just include some common greetings like "Hi" and "thanks", and watch your business+reputation grow. It doesn't take more time, its not more difficult, you'll feel better from not being so negative all the time, and more people will spend their money at Marstar. Its a no brainer. I guarantee it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
