What makes them more desirable than the factory ones?

I for one would opt for factory over Mec Gar. I have had nothing but problems in the past with MEC GAR mags.

this.....I see guys shooting lead thru their higher end guns,,,,thats luck buying a porsche and running regular unleaded thru it.,...or in the magazine case, running cheap walmart tires on your porsche.

Possibly. A lot of mags come out Italy. Most manufactures subcontract.

If the label on the mag says "EAA" be cautious.
EAA only uses the large frame guns and 99% of the Tanfoglios coming to Canada in 9mm are small frame guns.
Big difference in mag dimensions.

If what Onagoth says is true, you can buy MecGar mags from Freedom Ventures....they've just been relabeled as Tanfoglio mags!!!!

Other than that, Marstar is a reseller of MecGar but I didn't see any mags that would fit your Stock3
