Help me pick a new rifle for my wife please

My wife has been coming to the range with me for a few weeks now and getting more and more into shooting as the weeks go by. She's shot all of my pistols (even the .44 mag) and as for rifles - SR2, JRC .40 and even my 338 LM Savage 110 BA.

So this weekend she says she'd like to get a rifle that she doesn't have to share with me all the time - the nerve!! OK, well, I see this as an oppty to buy a new rifle and I'm all for it.

I've narrowed it down to something in .223 (plenty of ammo/components available, i have lots of .223 brass to make ammo with). I'm going back and forth between:

1) Tikka T3 lite Stainless (gotta be stainless for me, er uhm, her), and

2) Rem 70 5R milspec.

The Tikka is ~ $830, the Rem is ~$1100. I'd like to get her something that I can play with too, so the extra $$ isn't really a big deal. Since I already have a Savage 110 BA .338LM and a Rem 700 in 30-06, I think a .223 would be nice.

What do you think - Tikka or R5?
 
Hands down would be the T3 in .223 with the 1:8 in twist. She will be able to push 80 gr bullets accurately to 1000 yards or more.

I'd like to get her something that I can play with too...

She already has something you can play with... maybe give here the opportunity to decide what she may prefer...
 
Oh, I'll ask her what she might like, but knowing my wife (after 28+ years of marriage I think I do...), she will say "what ever you think is best".
 
It was supposed to be a surprise, but, I showed her pictures of both rifles and she said she liked the Remington better. Said she'd heard of them and didn't know what a Tikka was, other than tikka masala. Funny, that wife of mine is.

So, Rem 700 5r milspec/24"barrel is ordered and will be here soon (I hope).
 
I originally read the thread title of something like 'Help me pick a new wife in a raffle'.

Glad I misread it; wasn't ready to assume any responsibility.
