Any one in Ontario order one in the last week?

I ordered last Friday and today while asking a question with the CFO I was told that my transfer was going to be probably held to the end of the month, it was nothing to do with my licence and that I should maybe contact the seller.

My order status with Canam says waiting for approval of the CFO, but they can't do anything with it yet. I had another transfer pushed through in one day and I'm wondering why this order is different.

got any up dates??? explain? My order status with Canam says waiting for approval of the CFO, but they can't do anything with it yet

Well, I check on the CanAm website and says waiting for approval. I call the CFO to see what's taking so long with approval and they say it's being held to the end of the month and they can't disclose anything else. They said it had nothing to do with me, and to call the company to inquire. I find this weird since over the phone the CFO office finished another transfer I had going and I asked if the CanAm one could be finished as well they said no. So my first thought is CanAm has requested the transfer completes at the end of the month?

No updates, I emailed CanAm and I think I called them as the numbers I called don't ring, just go to some automated voicemail.

Maybe raise some spirits.

Heres 4 of the 5 1911's I got from CanAm

Top left is my own gun with a black/fde arma-coat job and a whole bunch of little bolt on bits and pieces.
Top right is a gun I arma-coated for a member here in all FDE. Otherwise its stock.
Bottom left is a gun I arma-coated all black for another member who decided he didnt want it. All black with white checkered grips. Its for sale in the EE right now.
Bottom right is a gun I bought for a buddy. He is still waiting for his RPAL so I still have the gun. Only addition was a set of Hogue grips.

Hope you enjoy the pic

What did you use on yours for the finger holds? I saw your previous post with just the magwell grip and plan to get the same ones but the finger area is different in this pic.
I was in a shop last week and they have a Nor done up that is super sweet...hope to build mine like it eventually.

The rear dovetail is a standard Colt 1911 dovetail. Any sight made for the Colt will fit. On some of the CanAm pistols the rear sight is in so tight it is a bugger to hammer out. My new sight pusher does it. Failing that, some needed a larger hammer. You might first consider leaving the rear sight in place.

On some of mine I left the existing sight. On others, I knocked it out and installed a taller Norinco rear sight. On others, i installed an adjustable rear sight to fit a Colt dovetail:

The front sight is a standard early Colt style staked on sight. the sight has a post sticking out the bottom that goes into a slot milled down into the slide. A pair of pliers will pry it out.

Your choice for the front is to buy a Colt Series 70 (also identified as the narrow tenon sight) and install that. Get the height that matches the rear sight. It makes for a simple and neat installation. Looks like this:

Or, you can pull off the staked on front sight and cut a dovetail for a new front sight:

There are several common front sight dovetail sizes available. I suggest you ask the gunsmith what size cutter he has or what sight he recommends before buying the dovetail type of front sight. The ones in the picture are late model Colt size dovetails. The Novak size is more common.

Have a look at Wilson's new #428 adjustable rear sights. Requires milling but no dovetailing... I've ordered two, but they are out of stock for another 30 days or so...

I like what you did with the police model, looks like the same front sight as my Remington R1E

Should I field strip it and clean or complete disassembly and clean before shooting my new Norinco. Sorry, probably asked before but don't want to go through 350 pages.
Regards
