Have been looking for a month for the following:
[h=1]RCBS Hand Priming Tool or a Hornady unit with 223 shell holders if necessary.[/h]
Any advice where I can order one and advice on which is better would be appreciated.

Living in the armpit of the province does not help with minimum guns shops.

I use a Lee Hand Primer XR. It is an ok product, some types of primers are preferred and it seems to dislike Federal primers for whatever reason. I know this makes no sense since they are theoretically supposed to be identical in dimension, but that's my experience. Stick with pretty much anything else (Winchester, CCI, etc.) and it works quite nicely. If you do a lot of bulk pistol priming, I highly recommend the Ergo model. The designer of the ergonomics of the standard XR hand primer must have worked at Glock. After sitting there priming for long enough it does get kind of uncomfortable, and if you're not holding it just right it's even worse.

It's still a fine product. I'd recommend you call up Epps and see if they have any for you, it's where I bought mine. I've primed probably close to a hundred thousand cases with mine now and with that little bit of lube on the elbow joint, it continues to put in work with no noticeable wear.

Thanks I was leaning towards the Ergo ...

I have the lee ergo prime and it works fine.
I prefer to prime on the press for leverage, but the ergo prime works just fine.
It's just that after 100 my hand is tired.
I am weak, so I prefer to use the press leverage.

I have the lee ergo prime and find it to be very good - however I've never used another type to compare it to. It's all metal (except tray) which is a plus for me

Since Lee suggests not using there old hand primers any longer I bought the newer XR Lee handprimer from Xreloader , I see now that Cabela's has them about 6 bucks cheaper. Seems ok for the money.
If you get an Ergo let me know what you think about it...

I have 4 of the older Lee Hand primerws with the circular tray.
The body is too narrow at the top [where the shellholder is] to accomodate any of the Short Mags or the RUM's.
The new design is able to prime these cases.

However, I also have the Hornady unit and the RCBS unit.
I like the Hornady best, but all work well.

The noise about not using Federal primers in the older Lee units is a fart in the wind as far as I am concerned.
I have primed literally thousands of cases, using the Lee and Federal primers, with nary a glitch.

I have not primed on my press for 25 years, at least. [Pistol excepted]

Regards, Dave.
