Black Gun: Quebec's patrol carbine competition, Sept 28th 2013

Im attending and I'm very excited this is actually happening in Quebec :)
I also just bought a new JP enterprise Upper 18" I will be competing with!

My 1st quick bench test... with my space GUN hahah :)
The center 10 shots were at 25m to see where I was on paper after I swapped my ELCAN Specter DR 1-4x

The left small Diamond was another 5rds @ 50m but I honestly did not take my time or the best technique...I used X-TAC 5.56mm 55gr
I never shot a group like this with my Mini 14, XCR-L, or the previous AR 16" upper that I was using. So for my ability and skill level this made me very happy :)
Also I chose the more traditional JP Upper, All Black and functionally like any other patrol/service rifle.

SPACE GUN :)

Good news: one of our sponsor is giving away a FENIX TK15 Tactical flashlight on match day.

This will be drawn as a participation prize, so everyone can win.

To the SKS crowd, do be shy to come, we already have a few SKS that will show up. you simply have to prepare 5 rounds stripper clips and practice your reloads!

Spots are still available for competition.

I'm severely tempted.. Whether it's the SKS or if the T97 comes in this week and the el-cheapo test-fit rings hold zero. Anyone coming from the West End of the GTA? Might be in for a carpool. Can fit a bunch of soft cases in the trunk and one or two hard cases sideways. Remind me to slow down in QC. QPP just looooves ON plates ;) So no holster cert or anything like that needed?

I'm 99% decided, just gotta plan it out... What time is it gonna start? Trying to figure out whether I can get away with grabbing half a night's worth of sleep in Whitby and continue on to Quebeckistan (which would work for another potential participant) or if it would be more advisable to leave the night before and crash in the area.

Also, any special QC CFO fantasies on transporting non-restricteds or just put it on a truck rack (make sure she's unloaded) and drive in (no worries, I pack them away in a case lol)

No special Qc CFO. Pack up and go!

I haven't spoke French in a long time. Would anyone be able to point me towards where I sign up, send money and the start times?

This webpage has contact info http://www.ligueppcquebec.org/black-gun.html I was gonna wait to see if anyone knew the starting time here and if nobody posted by Monday, I'd just call Sylvain Baillargeon. I have access to a fluent Francophone here if needed.

Dont worry about french, of course it will be a french environment but most of the staff is bilingual. We will provide English instruction upon request. If you do not understand something, anybody will be pleased to translate and help you!

About timings: when you will be contacting Sylvain, he will provide you with your relay's shooting Schedule. You must be present one hour prior to this time to allow for briefing and prep. The Schedule is getting full, you will probably be shooting in the afternoon. Payment is made on the spot, bring cash or a cheque. 25$ for rifle match and optional 5$ for pistol match.

Hope to see you there.

It's official. Contacted Sylvain for 2 confirmed and 1 tentative (just gotta get in touch with the bum and make him grow a pair - been working too hard). Might hit a couple of gun shops on the way out - SFRC (GI mags or pmags, undecided), CRAFM (Shadow mags) and possibly The Ultimate Hunting Store (Shadow).

So should we set up some kind of CGN tent so we can all meet up and chat? Also I assume my m&p 9 qualifies as a duty pistol?

By the way, all of my experience has been stationary, mostly offhand and very little on snap shots and it's a lot worse with handguns, so make sure that when it's time for my runs, the official replaces his stopwatch with a calendar
