Canadian Tire and firearms!!!

Nothing that I have seen and I regularly go to the langley store which probably has the largest selection of hunting gear in the lower maninland.

Just spoke to the managers at a few of the local stores.

The Grandview location (Bentall St.) will be carrying them soon, and North Van will too, but apparently not until 2014. Maple Ridge says no. PoCo no. The other locations in/around Vancouver apparently will not be stocking any firearms.

The Canadian Tire in Port Alberni B.C. stocks primers, bullets, powder, along with a bunch of reloading equipment. They also had a bunch of pistol ammo when I was there in August. No firearms though...

About 15 years ago my parents bought me my first gun (870 12 gauge) at the Canadian Tire in Timmins Ontario. They stopped selling guns soon after that for some reason but have recently (this year) started selling guns again, stocking pistol caliber round, a wider selection of rifle rounds and actual bullets and primers. No powder yet though. It's nice to see. :) There must have been some sort of corporate decision made by the higher ups to start getting back into the market.

Here in Hamilton, CT stores sell a limited selection of rifle ammo and cheap-a$$ pellet rifles and airsoft junk. Thankfully, we have two great gun stores in the city.

It funny, but CT charges more for Chinese made pellet rifles than quality Russian SKS and SVT's... go figure! We'll look back on these days in astonishment that we had SKS prices under $200 !!

I pulled out my 3 favourite SKS safe queens and gave them a good wipe down... Hoppe's cloth on the stocks for nice shine... these are fine rifles... just as nice as many of my much more expensive hunting rifles.

It is. One of our members was involved in a day long day at the range for the top corporate officials at Canadian Tire. One of the head guys wanted to know more about the shooting sports, so he organized the day.

Since then Canadian Tire has been much more pro-gun, pro-hunting, pro-fishing stuff in their store.

Last year, I ran a day at the club for a church group. We put together a goody bag of stuff and I went to the local CTC and asked them for plastic bags to put the stuff in. The manager fell over herself giving me everything I asked for. I took that as a good sign.

not impressed with the CT store ..everything is overpriced ..winchester power point 100 gr. for 243 cal =23.99 ..i can get the same box for 16.99 at my hunting store ..if you enjoy getting chinese JUNK go for it ...CT should stick to selling cheap overpriced tires .

i am going to buy a rifle in a ct store just because i can and should have always been able to.

x2...I hope many do as well. Show them we WANT them to keep doing this.

I buy ammo from them 1-3 times/month...sadly tho they need to realize they need more then 2-4 boxes out at a time...the reason certain calibers are always sold out is because they are WANTED...ie. order lots of it!!!

...we are not talking about "Chinese junk"...we are talking about firearms and ammo. Not all the ammo they have there is cheaper then a gun shop but some of it is, support it and it goes away. This is pretty much the only "public" view of ammo (and sometimes guns) we need to keep it up.

Although they may not have the best prices, it's important for the firearms community that firearms are seen on a regular basis in stores. CTC is a very popular place for all walks of life to be present.

Now we need to work on Walmart, God forbid!

I stopped buying ammo at my local CT the day they were asking me for my home address which I refuse to give out. I had to laugh pretty hard when I saw a Remington 750 auto loader priced at 1000 bucks the other day at the Pembroke CT, when I can get a brand new BAR at my local mom and pop store for a mere 100 bucks more and the same Remington sells for 230$ less.

Not too impressed with the CT gun and ammo business, but I guess its nice to see them back in the game.

That, asking for ID and recording it is NOT Canadian Tires policy...its Ontario's, required (stupidly) by the CFO. ALL ammo sales to be "legal" are supposed to have them recorded.

I was into Belleville a week or so ago could not believe the stock that they have.
Here in Lindsay they only have 10% of what Belleville has.
All in all it gives us another place to spend our money on what we enjoy.
