Trouble With CSA AR Mag Adapter

Looks to me like the magazine needs to be tilted a bit more

when making my 10round magazine adapter on the SKS this was one of the issues i ran into. Tilting the magazine by just a few degrees towards the back made a world of difference.

Maybe your magazines are very loose in the adapter which when the bolt comes forward to strip the round tilts the magazine forward?

That's very interesting but not surprising. I have told several people that mags need fitting to a particular firearm and they have looked at me like I am out to lunch. "If it's made for an sks it should work in an sks" Gimme strength.

Yea, none of the aftermarket mags on the market are actually made for the VZ adapter. It's a hit & miss when purchasing these accessories. Some fit like a glove & others need a little mod work. CSA is right up front about what mag fits the adapter & what mags you will have trouble with. I doubt it’s a firearm issue, but it could be. Hope you can sort it out.

Need and want are two different things. I figure a half dozen to start.

I haven't filed the magazine because it isn't protruding. The reason you see more of the mag in my picture is that there is a dummy round pressing down on the follower.

I have for now, but one of the reasons I chose this rifle was the ability to take AR mags. As far as I know, it's the only legal way to get 15 round mags for any center fire semi in Canada.

I bought the adapter for the same reason, no problems.

BTW it's a 10 round pistol mag that's legal to use.
