best 7.62x39 quality and price currently?

where the hell are you guys getting 1400 rounds of non corrosive for 300 bux!?!? id buy that in a heartbeat since im buying czech for 275! ive only ever shot copper washed and the stuff with the green paint on it LOL dont notice a difference between the two and ive been through 1000 rounds of each.

I believe I e-mailed you back this afternoon with a quote from Purolator at about $45.00 IIRC. The online calculator is screwy and we are trying to integrate Purolator into the programing.
Regards
Guy

Yes thank you Guy. Ended up going with Henry. $225 free shipping was tough to beat and got some .22LR Blazer thrown in as well shipped free.

Thanks though, I think we've dealt before and will again.

Corrosive doesn't bug me. Basically all militaries were using the stuff before the 60s and some for quite some time after. We maintain our range guns better than the average schmo in the field.

I've run thru a couple of crate of Romanian (corosive) with no problems. I also tried to stock up a little when LeBarons had the Barnaul non corrosive. But mostly I've been using the Romanian with no issues.

Best stuff I've used is Prvi Partizan... but it's not cheap.
The best cheap non-corrosive I can find is MFS (Russian)
The best surplus fodder is the Czech made stuff. I found it to be the most consistent and pretty accurate.

By far the most accurate 7.62x39 ammo that I have fired is the Federal blue box hunting load, 123gr soft point I think. Problem is I haven't been able to find any for at least a couple of years.

I've used Czech and Polish surplus. The Czech ammo was better. Good accuracy and didn't kill my lungs after. I've been using Barnaul non-corrosive and its been amazing! My XCR and CSA VZ58 have been loving it.:ar15:

I've bought some MFS soft point. Not as cheap as surplus but its non-corrosive and I can hunt with it. Picked up 240 rounds for $174 shipped from SFRC. It should last me a long time for hunting. Now I just need some plinking ammo might try some cheap surplus.

I've just bought 1000 Rds of this for $200. The seller said it was non-corrosive.

I see online ammo sellers advertising very similar looking stuff (Sellier Bellot) and stating that it IS corrosive. Anybody able to help out.
I clean immediately after use anyway (and fire a couple of more expensive "clean" rounds for the last two shots, as suggested elsewhere on this veritable fount of info forum - hell, right or wrong it can't do any harm!).

I get the Czech when on sale. Hey, you can't go wrong with the free shipping, & it's packaged like a Xmas present, all wrapped in plastic. Nice corrosive stuff!

The seller lied to you about it being non corrosive.
I only shoot the Chinese silver box or red box stuff that actually states its non corrosive.
Down to my last 7 crates though;)

Thanks for the responses folks. I guess I just need to do more work on streamlining the cleaning process.

Boil your kettle. Get a bucket and disassemble your rifle. Put the piston parts in the bucket. Shot of dish soap in the barrel and gas system. Pour boiling water down barrel and gas system with the rifle in the bucket. It dries very quickly when hot. Solvent, bronze brush, clean patches, oil, clean piston parts, reassemble, DONE.

Piece of cake on a CZ858.
