I've got a Norinco M305 with a front sight base leaning to the left. The sight post is staked almost all the way to the right. What I'm wondering is this a barrel indexing issue or just a flash suppressor problem?

Apologies for the picture quality...

I was considering getting an M-305, and started reading about this barrel indexing stuff. As much as I understood, it has to do with the barrel being over/under screwed in the receiver.

Anybody care to summarize why it is a bad thing (if it is) ?

I'd like to use the iron sights for the first bit anyway. Who in Eastern Ontario is good to fix this issue?

Looks like it is over indexed ( tightened onto the receiver too much ) . And if you are planning on running optics you may be able to just ignore this problem.

At the end of the thread below I showed how its fixed .Come to Petawawa for Hungrys clinic on Oct 19-20 and you can fix it yourself
