rpa actions.

With a repeater you lose a whole lot of bedding area on the bottom of the action. For an accurate hunting rifle you want to have a very stable zero. That bedding area would be useful. The best shot (and often the only shot) is the first one. Consider the advantage of a single shot rifle.

Your advice on the larger bedding area on a single shot is a good point. The areas I will be hunting in are open range. My reason for using a repeater, is that is not uncommon to encounter two, or more coyotes together.

You'd be amazed how fast you can learn to reload a single shot with the right set up. Especially with a right bolt- left port set up if you're right handed. If you're going to be prone most of the time it's pretty quick, not so much if you're sitting or standing. Where can one get an RPA action?

Has anyone had a rifle built using a rpa action? I'am considerating having a rifle built for coyotes using a rpa Quadlite Repeater. Thanks in advance for any information

What caliber/cartridge will it be ? With anything much bigger than a .308 you may be better off with a 2 lug action. 2 lugs make camming easier with their greater angle of travel.

My .308 rifle is built on the RPA Quadlite action. I also have the RPA trigger / picatinny rail.
If you read reviews, the only downside is : the bolt is stiffer to operate than a surgeon due to the 4 lugs design ( more friction ) which is true.
If you compare the feel of the bolt with a Surgeon action, its much smoother.

Other than that, its a sweet action and trigger is really, really nice.

Was wondering how's it going with Norm, but I see everything's okay. Still bashing Quad receivers. I like my Quadlocks, they are a contrast to the "too many" 700's and zero Savages in my gun room.

OK Dale. I don't have any Savages either. I do have 2 Stevens though.
