Recoil buffers

I just picked up a new 10 22 and have been reading about all the possible mods i can do to it. My question is about recoil buffers like the " Tuffer Buffer".

Do they really make a difference on the function of the firearm ?
Does it extend the life of the forearm, reduce FTF's or FTE's etc... ?

I havnt seen it make a diff in ftf and fte but it definitely gets rid of that ping sound associated with the 10/22 when the bolt slams back....Hey for what they cost i said why not

Theoretically, yes, it would extend the life of the receiver. But I've never heard of a 10/22 receiver being shot to death.

No observed difference in function with the buffer.

I use one, however, because I prefer the feel and sound with the buffer installed.

people shooting high volumes notice a loosening of the factory buffer if not replaced with something more flexible since they are connected to an alloy receiver at its thinnest point...my customized one is still shooting and sounding like new after 15000 shots...

Tuffer Buffers are way cheaper and do the same thing.

Personally I'll spend the extra $3 just to have the easier time of installing it.

I out one in and afterwards it did not feed/eject properly amymore.

And I do not need to spend any money to make my remington 597 shoot. Unlike a 10/22.

I've found them to be a frustrating, maybe I got some out of spec. I do like kidd parts though.

And I do not need to spend any money to make my remington 597 shoot. Unlike a 10/22.

It's funny how fixated people are on unrealistic accuracy. A 10/22 shoots just fine for how it is designed, out of the box it's not a volquartsenn. I didn't need to spend money on my 10/22, I wanted to spend the money.
