For the cost of most steel and all the research you need to do, its not worth it plus you could possibly blow your gun up since the pressures run so high. I just save my $, buy a bunch to test patterns and stick with the same kind. Most steel is $15/5 lbs= 80 rounds
$.185 per round plus powder = about $.17 per round plus wads, $10/100 plus shipping, so lets say $.15 per round wads and primers at about .04 per round. Totals about .55 per or about $13 per box, when they can be bought for $11-20 per box and might only use 2-3 boxes a year, all to save maybe $10
