i just picked up a m&p 40, and im debating on getting a core to build a open class pistol for next season.
heres where im stuck, there is not nearly enough parts to do it... for my glock i can go to rock your glock and glock store and get every part you can imagine mailed to canada to build a race gun, but i cant find anything like that for the s&w mp40.
ive found te apex trigger kits so that will be a must, but im also looking for some good 10 round mags and some bases, mag well, and im going to run a red dot on it... debating on the 5" barrel version.

any solutions? where can i go?
i want full length steel mags 10 rounders, not pinned they catch on the springs and jam in the magwell. unless you know of a way to internally block the USA mags please let me knowl

good trigger (apex apparently is the only choice...brownells has it)
magwell
threaded barrel for muzzle break (storm lake i think makes them, but not sure where to order it from)

If you're going red dot, there is no reason not to get a 5" CORE, IMO.

If you're having problems with the factory 10-rd mags, either something is not right with your gun, or you're doing it wrong. The only issue I've heard of with the mags is that when they are full they are hard to seat on a closed slide. This is easily solved by trimming the legs of the followers. But internally blocked 17-rd mags would be preferable, regardless, I agree. I haven't seen any in Canada. Try IRUNGUNS, they may be able to help you out.

No idea about a magwell, threaded barrel, or muzzlebrake. I'd call up Murray Charlton (S&W warranty folks in the West) and ask them if they can do anything for you.

My current mags are 10/15 pinned. They only hold about 8 at best... sometimes the spring catches on the pin and it only holds 6. Also the rivet makes the mag a snug fit, doesnt drop free.
How do I internally block them to 10 rounds?

I figure the 5" core in .40sw would increase the amount of mags I have this fit multiple guns.

My m&p40 came from irunguns

You can thank me or hate me later!

These guys shoudl have anything you could ever want for magwells and basepads. I was hoping to use their ESP line on my 9mm m&p but no luck with the 10rnd mags.

APEX trigger kits are must unless you want to ship it do Burwell for a trigger job. I really like my APEX kit and it is literally drop in ready.

For the mag loading issue it sounds like something is wrong. My 10 rounders were tough to load the 10th and almost impossible to seat in the gun with one in the chamber. I ended up chopping off 1.5 coils of the mag spring and shaving down the plastic follwers. Now they work great!

Good luck!

Thanks for that link.. that solves a lot of my issues.
The pins in my mags are done wrong.. the mags and sprungs seem fine. I think a internal block is the way to go..wish they just made canadia followers for usa mags.

it says they dont ship to canada, have you ordered from them before?

ontario... i found the trigger kit on brownells. but dont they have a price limit for canada?
i also found threaded barrels on their site.

There is lots of regulations we should all be aware of. I personally have not broken any US export regs with anything that I have brought up and if at all possible I find a Canadian Supplier.

Some items that we are talking about are not an issue as well.

Good to hear that someone else also prefers to support a Canadian retailer, even despite the premium that we often pay. And I'm glad to know that you've not run afoul of any US export regulations. All of the parts mentioned in this thread are subject to US export regulation.

just ordered the apex trigger kit. after doing some math it wasnt that much more in canada so i got it from ctcs.
