I have been planning out my VZ upgrades. One of the upgrades is based around manipulation of the bolt for reloads and clearing jams.

One of the first major mods I want I do is have a left side handle added to match the right side.

Anyone offering this mod?

Ballpark pricing?

Thanks

Geoffrey

From what I've read the bolts can be hard to drill and the weld requires good penetration or it breaks.

Also don't have a charging handle to mount on the left.

The charging handle is mounted on the bolt carrier not the bolt. There is no need to do any welding, the carrier can be drilled and tapped to accept a LHS threaded charging handle. IF ! the bolt carrier is super hard ( and I doubt it ) it can be heat treated to rectify that.

The hardest part as far as I'm concerned, is getting hold of the proper paint to refinish when the job is done. :)

NEA covered this when they played in this schoolyard. The VZ carriers are very hard and welded CHs had a tendency to fail. Dave McFaul had his eye socket busted by one that broke off during cycling. From that point forward they chose to D&T the carriers, thread the new CH in then weld it. The hard steel mixed with the steep angle of the carrier made them challenging according to NEA. The paint is easy. Detroit engine blue.

sa58.cz dont even bother unless you have very very big wallet, they have parts buttttttttt shipping is very slow, no communication , plus payment most of the time wire transfer so automatically add $30.

One think about Czech ambi bolts, they are casts and do crack. This is why they do have so many in stock because no one buys them in czech rep. If you after ambi bolt get an extra bolt and do it yourself it is the best and the safest
