The Persian Flamethrower 98/29 Carbine

That is a sweet rifle. If you do any shooting beyond 100 yards you will start to appreciate that long barrel, these are almost pinpoint accurate.

Did you buy it? And where did you find it if you don't mind me asking.

I found it here on the EE
It was there for quite a while with 4btt's. I guess the people just didn't know what it is.
I bought it together with a super sweet Peruvian 1909 rifle with a very rare bayo.

y2k, it is a 98/29 rifle

You are one lucky man, I've had to import all my Persians from US, never found one here or anywhere in Canada.

Goes to show you can find deals if one looks hard enough

Beautiful condition on those 2 rifles.

Whats the barrel length on the carbine? 18"?

Full size 98 action?

The barrel is 19 inches and the action is actually a "small ring" similar to Kar98a rifles issued during WW1. The receiver ring is slightly smaller in diameter than the standard 98 action and the left wall is also thinner. Excess metal is also removed from the rear receiver Bridget near the stripper clip guide and there are several other lightening cuts. The bolt is identical to standard 98 with exception of the handle having a different profile and hollowed out ball. As you can see most of these are done to lighten the weapon as much as possible.

I paid around $1300.00 (there was a trade involved) altogether for both rifles, the Persian and the Peruvian 1909.
