$400 Chinese copy of the VZ58 (CZ858, ETC.)

I know no country has adopted it except the czechs. Plenty of countries use the type 81 wich is loosely ak based. Take a look at the usa vz's, they are relatively cheap there yet everyone buys ak's. the vz obviously has major flaws in reliability take a look at the torture tests the vz just quits as soon as a little dirt touches it.

Thats 100% wrong, sigh....

First of all you should look at the czech built rifle in 7.62x39 not the US built crap, second of all that vz has been seen a whole lot in all the wars of the past 50 years! Even just as recently as Afghanistan with some nato forces trying to look incognito.

I'm not sure we've been seeing the same videos on you tube concerning reliability of the vz.

The czechs have been building their own firearms for a long long long long long time. They know their shiat when it comes to guns, even more so than the russians, the germans and the US.

So when the czechs adopt a rifle as their military standard service rifle, that's a very serious firearm

I'm so very sick and tired of people trashing that uniquely outstanding firearm, and then they go on saying their keltec su-16 or their m305 is the best thing in the world.

My cz858 is the only gun, and I say the only gun in my whole slew of firearms that has never ever caused me any malfunctions whatsoever. And I treat it like crap, hell I only clean it once every 1000 rounds. You know why i always bring it to the range with me? Cause I'm 100% guaranteed that thing will go bang, while all my other guns... who knows.

I can't wait for them to be out again, cause I'll pick up 2 more of them, they're really outstanding and any serious firearms owner here gets what I'm saying.

A serious firearms owner maybe, but serious shooters need guns capable of better than minute of pie plate.

It was never intended to be that, and frankly with my scope and bipod its just as good as my tavor to 100 yards, and it costs 2000$ less. My cz858 and my Tavor would be my two go to rifles on a Syrian civil war scenario cause they just always frigging shoot and reliability for me is more important than hitting sub moa groups at 100 yards.

Whatever, you guys keep on the hating and the price will stay low and I'll be happy buying another 2.

I try not to buy anything from china. I don't support communism.
You support communism when you gladly and proudly pay income tax to the federal government.

The future of awesome firearms comes from China. Deal with it.

To the op, I think Chinese made, stockless 10/22s are a more interesting prospect.

A whole lot of mirage, bluff, smoke and dance when it comes to China. All i can say is don't believe the hype, I've heard numerous reports from people working for state societies in China and frankly they are seriously not impressed.

sorry to highjack this thread but BIG_RED since you clearly have no idea what ISAF troops do in Afghanistan you should probably zip it as a guy who is trained to use a metal detector and "worked" over there. I beg do differ on it not being combat. last time i checked the guy at 7-11 didnt get shot at on a on a normal day!

Umm, now that I've finished p_ssing myself laughing at that, I still don't know how to respond. Let's say that where YOU were in A'stan, they had metal detectors and where Big Red was, they didn't have toilets.
