It took a few years and a lot of dollars, but I received one of my two pre-ordered M38 from Westrifle... She's a beauty!!!! Great wood, almost new bore and all matching numbers! Westrifle is working on my second, but I'm sure she'll be a hottie too!

The stock is a M44 stock, pretty sure. We can see the bayonet cut.

For the price you could almost import 2 of these (including the import fee) from the US!

We can see on the top pic. The stock is beveled slightly pass the rear handguard band up to the barrel shank, still a nice carbine. i dindt wanted to offend anyone.

Refurbished M38 were fitted with M44 stocks as common practice. If the stock in pictures is not M44 stock is just as in saying that Mosin Nagant has no safety.

People wanted those rifles and this is what I worked on for year and a half. I wish I can get more at cheaper price. Those are fun to shoot.

I wasn't expecting that much for a M38 but i am saving now in hope to get 1 in fews weeks, if still available, if not well i will survive.

Shiny and sharp!!! Tried to snap some photos with the borelight down the pipe, but the technique obviously escapes me!!!

She really is a gorgeous piece... All numbers match, plenty of crisp markings, and Izshvek stamps on pretty much every little piece. Trigger is crisp and clean. Far nicer than my 91/30 (though in fairness the 91/30 is MUCH older!).

I'm hoping to get her cleaned up and to the range on Thursday, but I've been preoccupied getting ready for hunting... Photos and range report to follow once she gets out there!

I seen a couple very nice matching non refurb m38s at lever arms awhile back for $350 each , damn i should have snatched them up ,they even had ww2 era slings ,
