is it just me or everyon??
i cant seem to find dealer or seller that offers
diffrent bolt knob for rem 700 series...

where should i look into?

Because the bolt knob is intergral with the bolt unlike most other guns it is not an easy thing to do. There are cheap covers available (kinetic research group) or you can have the arm machined for a generic screw on knob. Pacific Tool and Gauge I know makes bolts for 700 actions with larger knobs but they are spendy.

Uhg really?! Sorry but it IS and easy thing to do . Any one with a hack saw , file and some patience can remove the factory knob file to correct dia/ round it out and thread the handle. Before I had a mill this is how I did mine and quite a few others for people .. Sure it takes an hour or so , depending how good you are with tools , but it's a hell of a lot cheaper then the 1-150 most will charge you

i thought so grind the round factory knob part straight with grinder make thred bolt on with thred lock...
am i wrong?

I'd avoid using a grinder for the simple fact that if your not carful can introduce a lot of heat into the metal . I'm not sure the exact process or type of solder Remington uses to attach their bolt handles to bolt body so no clue how much heat would effect that joint . Go slow and cool often to keep the heat down and you should be fine . 5/16- 24. Threading is the standard thread for bolt knobs you want your major dia to be .310-.320 before you cut threads with a die

whats the point with tactical knobs really? I dont get it.

drill a hole in a golf ball, paint it black, and hammer it on the knob?

kidding, but really, what is the issue with the stock knobs ?
looks like a spoiler on a civic to me, with yellow calipers, and painted pads that were not taped....

I wouldn't consider this as easy no. Most people would have the skills (or confidence to do this) and a mistake is expensive.

i prefer to refer to them as oversize bolt knobs haha for some like my self, i find it easier to run the bolt faster and more firm them the stock knob allows, especially with cold hands or gloves on. with my set up, the stock knob was very close to the scope and id find my self dragging my knuckles across my rear ring. or if i ran the bolt quick, using the part of my hand between my thumb and pointer finger, i found it would slip as once again to close to the scope. running the larger / longer knob allows me to run the bolt either way with no interference

I see.

Like anything else in life. IF you have the tools and the know how, it is simple to do.
Having it done by someone who IS equipped to do the job is many times much less expensive than doing it yourself.
Being as Remington "solders" their bolt handles on some of the methods of removing the factory bolt knob material in order to thread the oversized knob onto the bolt handle can and DOES sometimes weaken the solder to the point that the handle comes off entirely. THEN is when things get truly spendy.

We do hundreds of these every year and are tooled up not only to do the job correctly, but also have the knob installed inline with the bolt handle. Some of the things we see just makes a guy wonder. Having your bolt knob installed at a 20 degree offset angle makes for a truly "unique" looking rifle.:puke:

I like the Phoenix Bolt knob...
