Last winter I picked up a decent looking No.1 Mk.3 sporter and soon realized that it was from the rare NRF factory. I have been contemplating restoring it, but am not sure I have the time or money to dedicate to it right now. Its a 1918 production and the bolt matches the receiver. It would basically need everything but the bolt, barrel, mag and receiver. Just wondering what you guys think its worth right now and what it would be worth if I restored it.

Restored, it would be VERY nice. There are very few NRF rifles around in any condition at all.

Values I am NOT "up" on, but I would expect to shell out over $500 for a good restored NRF, $600 for an original, likely 200 for it the way it is.

Good thing I'm not in the market; I would be perpetually broke.

Good thing I already have 3 NRFs, one completely original, one in parts and one with an exprimental aluminum stock (1945).

Yup, Smellie pretty much says it all. If the bore is great that's a very good candidate for refurb. And it so happens that i have a complete stock set waiting for a good sportered barreled action... :)

The bore is not too bad, dark but with seemingly good rifling still. I would love to restore her myself, but I just don't have the money right now and this thing deserves to be back in original config.

I had a gentleman show me a sporter recently a sporter enfield in a aluminum stock, is there more info on these so I can send it to him?

I bought an NRF sporter from a fellow CGNer for about $150 plus shipping, however the bolt does not match. That being said, it is the best LE shooter that I own.

Of course John, that's the 'Peddled Scheme'. But they are still pretty rare! That makes restoring one a bit easier too because Enfield and BSA parts are both ok if I'm not mistaken?
