TT-33 russian or Norinco 1911 ?

I own Both a norinco 1911 .45 and a russian tt-33. The 1911 gets way more love. Mainly because my range doesn't allow surplus ammo and factory ammo is hard to find, and not cheap. That said, there both fun to shoot.
 
I got a TT-33 and you can find non-corrosive ammo (S&B). I shoot both types, but it's a piece of history and fun to shoot. It's got some snap to it!
I also have a SR1911 though :)

I'd shoot my SR1911 more if it didn't fling the brass all over creation. The curse of the reloader is having to watch your sight with one eye and your brass with the other!

The TT-33 is more carefree in that regard. Sweep up the casings that don't fly off into the high grass with a magnet and you're good to go.
 
I love my GSG 1911 and its a great cheap shooter. I too and entertaining the idea of a TT-30 from Weimjack and the norc 1911 combo from can am. The only reason I would go for the TT is for the cheap ammo. I would feel obligated to take up reloading if I bought the .45 acp and I just dont get out enough to warrant it. Cleaning my corrosive guns however is not as bad as people say...Especially with a small pistol. Wash it with some soap and warm water and dry thoroughly. PS im in Pickering if you wanted to split on some ammo
 
I have both, and since I got the 1911' the TT 33 hasn't seen much use. The problem for me is how tiny the grip is on the Tokarev. Cleaning is no big deal, less than 10 minutes to strip, clean and reassemble, it just has to be done right away with the corrosive ammo. I like the Tokarev enough that if I found a Yugoslavian one (longer grip frame), I would probably buy it and sell my Russian one. The TT 33 is surprisingly small overall, not just the grip. Probably best to get both the 1911 and a TT 33.

Go with the worst of both worlds. Epps have Zastava M70A's listed, which are basically new production TT-33's in 9mm.
