Hey guys,

A little while back I was fortunate enough to travel to Russia, Ukraine and Poland. I thought some of you would find some of the museum pictures interesting.

Some WWII and post war stuff in St. Petersburg

This one really stood out so I made sure to take a picture of both the rifle, stock, action AND the sign. Maybe someone can give more info?

While in St. Petersburg's artillery museum, I also came accross a 1945 dated trials SKS rifle supposedly used in Berlin. Looked quite different then the standard SKS. Of course I didnt have my camera with me and was leaving St. Petersburg that night.

I know! I was kicking myself on the train ride south. I can semi-describe it but thats about it! Even worse I knew the significance of it right at that moment.

Those pics are cool. I got excited when I saw a few of my rifles in the museum pics. That just made up my mind not to tapco anything unless its a Chinese rifle.

I know the feeling....

On my European Travels, I relied on disposable cameras..... :(

I think I have 10 decent pictures out of the hundreds that I took...

Wow...just wow.

My comments exactly! It really is something else walking through areas that have such a history still evident. Many places in Russia are still full of pock marks and battle damage. A few places in St. Petersburg had pock marks from German artillery and bombing runs.

My friend and I also made it a point to see Auschwitz while in Poland as missing it is truly an injustice. Although by no means a fun part of the trip, it was and is extreamly important.

Great pics!!

Eastern europe is a place I'd love to go too. Maybe next time.

They are definitely more proud of their military history there then Germany. Can't imagine why. Lol
