What paint to paint a bayonet black on a SKS?

Thinking on doing a blackout SKS. Everything black.
It will look bad a$$.

I'd use a metal paint. Maybe a BBQ paint? Then bake the blade a little to harden the paint.

Maybe just but a black bayonet from someone?

Paint really won't be that durable I wouldn't think.

If you use paint, don't clean with Hoppes 9. It will eat it, and it will run.

If you want to do it yourself blue it, will look better than paint. otherwise buy an already black bayonet. Personally i think a completely black SKS would look more badass with a silver blade but thats just me

"...BBQ paint..." That's for AL. Tremclad or Krylon are for steel. Bayonets were blued or phosphated though.

Please provide the empirical data to back up this statement. What events brought you to make this discovery?

I guess someone once evaluated the ability of sh1t to stick to a blanket and found it to be very tenacious!

Engine enamel that is solvent resistant. Not lead paint as you could give someone lead poisoning.
I am looking at Duplicolor and Plasti-kote low gloss Black which are basically the same when you look at the msds sheets.
Both are high heat with silica/ceramic and gasoline resistant.
