I took my type 97 out yesterday and really enjoyed shooting it. Light trigger and very light recoil. Safety sucks and so does the mag release. I still like it and will keep it. I didn't end up keeping my tavor. It's in the same price range as SAN rifles ant can't hold a candle to them, besides compactness. The tavor is a more ergonomic rifle than the type 97, but it is way overpriced for what it is.

are you able to customize the t97? that sort of make or break with me.
love customizing me guns :p

At the moment, no. But the guns had only been on the market for about 6 minutes before a couple of guys had already designed ambi mag releases. And remember that the AR-15 was around for years before you could get much of anything in the way of aftermarket goodies. Sales numbers will be the determining factor. I predict that if no hidden gremlins start to surface so that these things continue to sell well that within a year you'll be able to get all sorts of accessories for them.

So you need 15 rounds to shoot at paper all day long?
Will it ruin your shooting if you have to reload more often?

We are not in America where if you use our gun in self defense without being raped by the legal system.
So more rounds essentially means nothing.

And single shot bolt action is totally different from what I'm talking about.
Having single shot semi auto rifle defeats the whole purpose of having the "semi auto" gun.

Why have a semi at all? With your way of thinking why have a firearm at all? A bb gun will punch paper just as well at 25 yards. Hey, why hunt? there is plenty of choice at the supermarket in terms of meat. Why have free choice at all? It is much easier to have someone make your choices for you. 15 rounds in a T-97? 15 rounds are not necessary nor is the rifle and nor are any rifles by your way of thinking.

If you need 15 rounds of .223 to hunt, then maybe you should not be hunting at all... Or even own a gun.
In Canadian there are no real advantage of having 15 rounds.
Until we have some logical gun laws in Canada, 15 rounds magazines have no advantages.

What are you talking about? You can't think of 1 advantage? What gun law changes would make a 15 round mag more advantageous in your opinion?

Do you not think some would find it fun to target shoot with a 15 round mag? What about someone who works in a wildlife area for wildlife defense? Would 15 rounds not be more effective than 5?

Based on what your saying I feel like you dont think there is ever a reason have more than 5 rounds. Are you sure your on the right forum?

No advantages? I'd say shooting in the sand pits and not reloading your mag every two seconds is an advantage. I'd say having more fun is an advantage. I'd say proving that more rounds in a legal owners gun is not more dangerous to the public is an advantage. I'd also say sir you are quite the moron.

Interesting observation. When did they have a regime change? As far as the entire world knows they are the largest communist country in the world.

Ref https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ch.html

Communism: Communism (from Latin communis – common, universal) is a revolutionary socialist movement to create a classless, moneyless,[1][2] and stateless social order structured upon common ownership of the means of production, as well as a social, political and economic ideology that aims at the establishment of this social order.

I've been to China, it's not very communist.

Good luck trying to kill a bear with .223..... Lol
Shotgun comes to mind.

Anyways it has derailed long enough...
T97 is a neat gun, but not mine first choice because elf many reasons that as listed before.
One big thing is its ugly tho.

Yes a shotgun would be a much better choice but I've read of people carrying the tavor for that purpose so thats why I brought it up. (dont forget cougars as well) I dont see why a .223 couldn't kill a bear though, especially considering you could get 5+ shots off in a few seconds. Not that I would ever want to, just saying.
