Unknown .22 WMR rifle, can someone help me ID it?

Hey there folks,
Am looking for some help ID'ing this older .22 Magnum bolt gun. I did some searching but my CGN/google-fu is weak. Checking out New Haven, CONN makers suggests it could be a Marlin or a Winchester, but I was unable to unwrap the super fancy stock reinforcement material to take a closer look.

I am trying my first pic uploads....hope this works. Any help appreciated guys. The end goal here is to source a mag for it once I figure out WTF is is. I'd like to clean it up real nice and probably re-blue it as well some day.

Why not just take the black tape off and read what's stamped on the barrel?

Made by Marlin. Might be more information under the electrical tape.

Appears to be a Marlin 25 MN or 782. Mags are still available, although I don't think I have any.

Marlin 782....i have one with the same etching. great little gun....very very accurate indeed. but i do not know the dates of manuf. mags still available . Seen one in EEs last night.

...on my regret selling list. I had one that shot very well. Touch of clean-up ahead of you, but certainly a worthy rifle! Nice find.
