How the Chinese army shooting teams do mag changes with the QBZ 95 (T97)

It is interesting how the news/propaganda articles make it look like China was the dominant team.

Then again at least they seem to care. In Canada there was way more ink used covering the Army run than CAFSAC.

The reason most like using the weak side hand for mag changes is in order to keep your firearm on target while changing. Plus keep in mind they have a RFB/ Steyr Aug style mag release at the back of the magwell on their rifles. They don't have the AR style button we have.

Interesting to see mag changes done with the right hand. But.. I think I'll stick to reaching over with the left or wait for an ambi mag release.

Not much point in keeping your rifle pointed at the threat if you can't engage? For an emergency reload it makes no difference, for a tactical reload it definitely does.

What I find interesting is the complete lack of trigger control, no one seems to understand or attempt to work the reset.

What's also interesting is the guy near the end who f**ks up his reload, then after reinserting the loose round in the magazine decides to load with his support hand.

Notice the eyes down for the duration of the reload, that's good SA.

I like the simple sling around the neck. Not the most comfortable but it works and doesn't involve a complex sling or manual of arms.

And the horror of the camera man DOWN RANGE!!

On a side note. China offers plenty of "quality" reddot style optics, so why don't they issue them to their troops. They are affordable and would be cheaper for them without having to factor in profit or shipping right??

At least there you might get the respect of a nation and are properly funded right?

The chinese army is an all volunteer force and they are actually held in very high regard these days over there. Can't say the same for our western armies having to troddle through constant paycuts and leftist hatred for the armed forces. Kind of sad how that is actually.

And if you actually are carreer military in the PLA, your retirement package will be GREATER than anything you could dream of obtaining in the Canadian army. At that point you would be a high ranking officer with probably close ties to some government officials who would pull some communist party strings and voila, you would have a large home and either your own business or alot of money.

You should move there and join the PLA, i hear they pay well and the retirement packages is good!!

Yup talking about tactical reloads. (Edit: Actually meant emergency not tactical. IE dropping the mag). Not changing from behind cover.

Hahhaha. Yes "quality" red dot optics. Eotach !!! and aimpont!!

Any idea how the t97 trigger reset is comparing to standard ARs?
Can't be too amazing I would imagine.

In their defense there was no "cover" to utilize for the reload.

Sorry just getting up after a 13.5 hour night shift. Was referring emergency reloads not tactical. In my earlier posts. IE dropping the mag. Which was what they were doing after the PLA equivalent of the Hondo roll. Ie their tactical ballet spin. You'll note they attempt to keep on target by tilting the rifle to the left and keeping it vertical. While being a James Stewart fan and truly admiring the shooting technique in Winchester 73 (James Stewart and the bad guy in the movie both start with the rifle sideways then twist the rifle onto target and shoot. It was a distinctive style that played a part in the movie. Apparently the PLA have seen this move. It's a great Western Classic). I have to say it's not as practical as the Western weak hand tactical mag change style. At least when the rifle has decent ergonomics.

..if you use a 10 round LAR or a .50 Mag that can't be mentioned-the mag changes are Incredibly fast as you're reaching directly Under the shorter mag(like cupping it) & pulling it down/out, or moving fast enough to let it clear/drop free as you grab your next (smaller sized) Legal higher capacity, your finger hits the button perfectly. To use a Standard 5/30, (Which is allot less Fun here anyway) it seems to be easy enough to mod or make the Left side an Ambi. release. Similar to the Troy one Ive seen on youtube for the AR. Ideally, having a button on the back would be Great, but a more difficult Mod.
