First off, let me say that I'm fully aware that you can't expect too much from inexpensive optics. Considering it was Bass Pro and it was sold as a shotgun scope and the fact that I'm on a tight budget, back in August, I decided to purchase their "Pursuit" shotgun scope. I mounted it on my Remington 870 20 Ga., did a rough bore sight, and took it up to CFB Borden to qualify for the hunt. My first 2 shots were in the bull and the next one flew about 3 inches to the right. Hmmm, says I, maybe I pulled a little on that one. This weekend past, I'm at my buddy's place up north and I'm shooting at his little outdoor range at 50 yds. trying to fine tune the scope. I couldn't get 2 rounds side by side, never mind hitting the bull. I wasted about $30. worth of sabots before I figured out that the internals were trashed (after 2 shots!!!). I stopped into Bass Pro on my way back to see what, if anything, they would do to about this. Well, since I hate clutter, I'd thrown the bill and packaging away after I mounted the scope (my stupidity). The guy at the gun counter said, "Well, it IS a low-end scope." WTF!!! Low-end or high-end, it's supposed to be built robust enough to handle shotgun recoil, shouldn't it? To make a long story short, the lady at customer service basically said, no bill no refund. So, my lesson learned and a "heads-up" for the rest of you guys. Don't waste $95 bucks at Bass Pro like I did.
Update!
Well, the saga continues. I finally spoke to the manager of the gun shop. "No problem" he says, and we go to the customer service desk. What a good guy! He just told the girl to give me a refund (which is an in-store credit, not cash). So a personal thanks to Wayne for his attention to customer service, and I plan on buying more goodies there in future. It still doesn't change the fact that you should NEVER buy the "Pursuit" scopes IMHO.

I wish you had read the reviews abit more. Members here told me about the bushnell trs-25.
All I can say is wow! $155 including a high mount from pro line in Calgary.
I now know why people buy two or more of these RDS and leave them zeroed on there guns.
If you paid with credit, you might want to go that route andget your money back. If you paid with cash, I'm sorry you had to learn a tough lesson.
Thanks for sharing though!
Bass pro doesn't always = awesome!

The pursuits are $40 US not on sale. Sells here for $70.
It's crazy to think bass pro can get away with such high margins in Canada. However they only have to compete with WSS and Cabelas is apart of bass pro.
I'm guessing the margin is 30% or more on most items.
It pays to shop around!

So for a guy on a budget, you're now out $95 bucks. See folks, it doesn't cost less to buy cheap sh*t, it costs more. The price tag alone should have been the first clue, the second clue was store brand optics, the third clue was made in China.

little bit more and you could have bought a Leupold Ultimate Slam, Bushnell XLT, Burris Fullfield, or Redfield scope :/

budget $100-$250 and you'll get something that lasts

Every time you buy something at another store send a letter to Basspro and let them know they missed out on another sale to you and why. I bet that after the third or fourth letter they will be calling you.

I think you'd be very suprized to find out just how many thing/parts are made in China.

I was told they were owned by bass pro. Looked it up, guess not. The stores are basically the same. Just 10 million in taxidermy is different.
To the OP,
Bushnell trs-25. For cost and fuction, it's tough to beat. I'm a trs-25 convert. Many posted about just how good it was. Read the review, they werent wrong!

I ordered a bunch of reloading equipment under Bass Pro's Free shipping offer and saved about 30% over Canadian prices.

For example a Leupold VX2 3X9 scope. $379 on BASS PRO.CA, same scope is $499 on wholesale sports.ca.

They currently have free shipping for any order over $99.

I know a lot of guys will probably have something to say about this, but I have been using Bushnell re dots and red green dots for over 20 yrs. They have all functioned flawlessly [except one battery cap, which was replaced immediatly, in person, no charge]. Most of these sights, are between 100.00-150.00. I'm not daddy Warbucks, able to afford high end optics. These are what I use and always will. CHEERS, jIM
