Just wondering if there are many women on here. If there are, what are you shooting. How about some pictures. How did you get into shooting.
Unfortunately I'm newer to computers than I am to firearms. What is the forum and how do I send a note to someone. thanks. There's a fair number of us. Come on over to the Gun Grrlz forum. Lots of pics etc there. ( 'CGN Ladies' ). Send Tiina a note for access.![]()

In my opinion, there aren't enough women in the sports. I'm convinced that our collective and too often unfair image in the public eye will change significantly as more women join us. The young are also a part of the answer and again convincing mothers of the safety and value of our disciplines is key. A lot of the negative press we see is aimed at the ladies. We need to do our best to accentuate the positive in the shooting sports that is obvious once they get an inside view.
I would really like to converse with other women because I hope it will be more enjoyable. Check out " gun storage" under recent posts and see what they are like. Is it any wonder I want to get on a womans forum. No offence to the few civilized men out there who are here to talk about guns, not to criticize peoples grammer and spelling or their choices as in the "gun storage" post.
Forums of all sorts seem to attract a certain breed that really doesn't represent the sport. Try to stay clear of anything remotely to do with politics as that area seems to bring out the worst. Try Google for links to sites that serve women's interests. Just about anyone can benefit from a few visits to www.corneredcat.com/. Here is another of many for you. http://www.mnguntalk.com/
One of the reasons many of us would like to see more women in the sports and for that matter on the forums is that they tend to tone down the macho chest thumping some of the testosterone types are prone to. Many of the types that mouth off online wouldn't do so in real life.
Good advice is to take what you need and like and leave the rest. This works in many aspects involving the human animal.![]()
thank you, that is good advice.

Ok ladies, this is the only women's thread I'm aware of so I will ask here.
I have paid for a membership for my wife for years and she has never gone shooting. When I say I won't renew it, she says yes you will. (so guess who wins that.)
So how do I get her to go shooting?
If you can, hook her up with another lady shooter. I know that in my circles there are shooters who really enjoy the mentoring role. There are clubs that have lady's nights and similar social events too. I'm sure you could find a female club member that would be happy to take your wife under her wing until her confidence builds. I find that women often make better learners. A female "coach" would likely work the magic.
