How many are in a crate and where can you buy them by the crate and how much do they work out to be? But I would like to look at them first I have seen some that are pretty ruff looking.

I think you might be up the creek without the proverbial paddle, unless you can find a retailer that has a bunch of crates and make a deal with him to pick through the crate for the picks of the litter. Call around to the local stores and see what they say. Good luck!

I just bought a empty crate for $40 from my local store, was lucky enough to be there as they were bringing in the crate and get my name on it before the staff got it.

Didn't you get the memo? You have to buy crates that are full, not empty...

A quick Google search reveals that Frontier Firearms has 10 packs of Norinco Type 56 SKS rifles for the current sale price of $1,529.95, which is down from the normal price of $1,599.95.

I've actually thought about this before, but unless you live right down the road from the retailer, shipping will be horrifying. With that said, this is about 500 dollars cheaper before tax than ordering 10 Type 56 carbines would be, presuming you paid the relatively standard price of $199.99 each for them. If you're really set on doing this, figure out how much the taxes and shipping for the ten from Frontier would be, then add that to the current sale price for the bulk order. If it's more than 2000ish, it may be cheaper to just get 10 from Canada Ammo separately as they have free shipping. I'm not particularly good at math (learning disability in math) and I'm pretty drunk, so forgive me if my numbers are wrong.

Post pics if you do it.

I would rather get Russian crate. The Chinese are not much of an investment. I was thinking on buying about 10 and hold them for 10 years and then sell them. I bet they will be $300 in 10 years. A 33% return is better than the bank. Or if I get them for $150 a piece would double my investment. But in all reality when it came time to sell them. I would end up keeping all of them.

Fair. I could have sworn that they had Russian crates of 10 for sale two or three years ago, but I don't see it there now. Emailing distributors may be your best bet.
