Elk isn't a species you "just go shoot"; lots of effort like pre-season scouting, etc. is involved.
If you travel south some, there are turkeys around for sure. Kettle River area. Christian Valley. Those areas will be brim-full of hunters though, so stay safe.
If I were you, I'd get a Mulie tag and a whitetail tag head over into the Scotch Creek area and/or up around Adams Lake. Less hunters and a better chance of success. Good luck, whatever you do.
thanks just down for a quick trip so not a lot of time to travel very far did take a quick look down the trinity valley road found some fresh deer sign but nothing on the hoof where I could shoot at it
