I bought a pack of 500pc Hornady Z-Max 50gr bullets because the price, now from my understanding, these are just the V-Max, just with a yellow tip and a tad bit cheaper (makes no sense)

Anyways, i started loading up a bunch today, and it took me a while, but I started to see copper shavings on my press, and realzing that when i seat, the neck seems to rub some copper off.

The necks and bass have been fully resized by a RCBS die, Ive never had this happen before. Is this common, or did I get maybe a bad batch of projectiles that the copper is too thin/soft.

The picture of the bullet after being pulled, it was pulled with pliers so dont mind the deep marks on top.

I chamfer every one of my cases as a standard case prep step.
It facilitates a smooth, consistant, straight seating of the bullet.

I once purchased 120 rounds of loaded ammo at a gunshow.
I bought it simply for components. When I pulled the bullets, none of the cases were properly chamfered. Every bullet was significantly damaged!

I got a great deal on the brass, but the bullets and powder went straight to the garbage! What a waste!
