Has anyone run a P223 on their T97

If you're wondering what the P223 looks like mounted on a carry handle rail. I'm not going to do any permanent mods until some replacement flat top upper hardware becomes available.

At that position, it feels fine, but until I get a proper cheekrest or a flat top rail system comes to market, I think I'm just going to run a SPARC on top. It's comfortable enough to run without a cheekrest and it's nice and compact.

I have both a P223 and a T97, but am waiting on my rail. I'll mock up a pic.

Here's about as low as you're going to get with that handle in the way. 4.75" from center of scope to center of bore (vs 3.5" on irons). Will need a cheek rest.

I have this exact set up. had to use medium rings b/c the eye piece and objective don't extend enough past the carry handle to use my low rings. It's about 4.9" high now. 3X is great for this application. I'm not much good past 100 yds anyway. The gun is more accurate than I am now. My irons came pretty well dead nuts with a factory 25yd zero. That is miles high at 100 yds using 5.56. I was able to zero at 100 yds with my new set up and achieve a more reasonably flat trajectory. It's 2.5" low at 25 yds now and groups 2" (not bad for me) using norinco 5.56 ammo. At 100 yds the group widens out to 3-4". I can live with that. Practice and better ammo should narrow those groupings.
