The ones currently available - no - they are non-restricted.

You can get a shorter barrel made (ie: less than 18.5"), and re-register as restricted - but the ones being sold by dealers are all NON-RESTRICTED.

Not true. IWI CTAR models are currently available. And the US ones previously mentioned.

Hmm.. I am proven wrong once again! :)

Apologies - I'm not up to speed on the new models coming in. Let's just say, they aren't 'restricted by name' a-la AR-15, and restricted-ness is determined by barrel length.

Can we agree that the VAAAST majority of Tavor's in-country are NR? ;)

You can buy both but I don't understand why anyone would buy the restricted verion when it's only 2 inches shorter than the already short overall length non restricted version.

If you're only shooting it at the range (and don't care about the NR status) you can get the restricted one through IRG for quite a bit cheaper than the NR one.

$600 off is a pretty good savings.
I'd still prefer a non restricted but it is a good option for those that only shoot at the range.
