AR Upper assembly tools in Calgary?

Ok, let me try to explain this differently. Is there anybody in Calgary willing to teach/help me how to assemble my AR upper?

Right now I think I have to remove the flash hider (a2), pin the gas tube to the gas block, pin the gas block to the barrel and then reinstall the flash hider.

Well, I'm not in Calgary, but I'm with you in spirit.

What you need to do is a fairly simple operation. An upper receiver vice block would help quite a bit, or you could instead clamp the vise on you barrel, with a suitable material between the jaws and the barrel. Plenty of guys have used blocks of wood with a groove in them.

For the flash hider, ideally you want a wrench that's not goin to be hitting the crush ring, that's the disk between your flash hider and the barrel. The crush ring is, as you may guess from the name, intended to be crushed. Your flash hider probably won't line up easily, so you have to reef on the wrench to crush the ring to get the flash hider lined up properly. I'm a hardcore ghetto gangster, so I left my flash hider sideways to piss people off.

As for the gas block, my recommendation is to use something removable to mark where the gas port is, but in a spot that's not going to be covered by the gas block. That will give you a good index point.

There's lots of youtube videos, just remember to watch a few, as some guys are a bit hit and miss with their advice.
