AR Muzzle Flash and Noise Comparison with various devices

Interesting data on the sound levels. To me the SPLs on the flash suppressors seem a bit low but he did use the correct sound equipment and test protocols. Maybe I missed the rifle he used for the tests but normally we'd expect around 165 dB for an A2 FH on a 14.5" barreled M4 carbine.

Regardless it is quite interesting to see how the comps direct sound sideways and back towards the shooter. I don't know how people shoot some of the really short barreled stuff with a brake on it. Those quite literally blow my hair back.
 
Remarkable how the A2 device holds it's own after all these years. Gotta be a candidate for the 'if it ain't broke...' champ.
