Need advice on single stage press RCBS vs LEE

Hey I am a new member but have been an enthuasist for many years.
I am wanting to get into reloading but as I newbie I need advice between two presses. I am not looking to spend a lot of money as I am not sure if I will use it as much as I would like. Well here are my two options I found a used RCBS RS 2 for $50 or a NEW LEE rifle & pistol press for $34.99... The seller of the press has a few other items for sale that do look like a good price . What do you guys think about the two presses
 
of those 2 presses, go with the rcbs hands down.

if your going to get a lee get the classic cast, that's a bad ass single stage.
 
RCVS all day of the week. Lee makes some usable stuff, but they're the brand you buy when your price conscious.

Lee's $35 press is a light duty aluminum C frame good for light reloading. I would take the RCBS for the peace of mind in build quality and customer service. Pay full price for a wiener press or get a great deal on a good one? Spend more and save more at the same time.

Case trimmers set $25
Unused lee .223 fl die $35

Looks like pretty good prices, is the .223 die just the FL die or a set? A pacesetter 3 die set is only $40 here in Canada. I would try to get a package deal but even at those prices he's giving you a deal provided everything is in good useable condition.
 
For the extra $15 the RCBS is a better press.
The rest of the prices aren't out of line, if they are in very good shape.
The scale might be a deal if it is a good balance, overpriced if it's a cheap digital.
Older, heavier built reloading equipment is nice to use. Some of the modern refinements are nice, but most of this stuff will last a very long time with even minimal care.
 
If it's a LEE scale, don't bother with it, unless you like wasting your time, and being frustrated. As far as presses go, the RCBS is a far superior press.

Skip the lube pad, pick up Hornady wax style lube, apply with fingers, no mess!
Spend more on a good trimmer - Lyman Universal works well.
Scale and powder measure should cost you more then that (remember, a cheap scale will give you cheap ammo!)
 
Forget both presses, spend an extra $80 and get the LEE CLASSIC CAST, as posted above, it is a badass press. I especially love the lack of primer mess I get with it. If you are definatly going to go with either press you listed, the RCBS would be of much better build quality than the Lee Aluminum one. About the lee dies, I think they are a good value, but I'm a hornady fan in that department. For an extra $15 you can get a good set of Hornady dies that will last you forever with a warrenty that is stood behind, the number one reason I love thier dies though is due in part to the excellent lock rings, they will never move on you when tightened down and they won't damage the threads on your dies.
 
Looks like the vast majority of us agree about the press-- get the used RCBS.
Other than that, the prices quoted for the other things don't seem like a bargain to me. At the last gun show I was at a good, solid old Lyman scale sat there for twenty dollars.
 
I had a lee aluminum press and I stopped using it.
Aluminum is too soft. It will flex alot Under load, and it's easy to strip their breech lock aluminum inserts.

Their classic cast presses are well rated though.
