Debatiing on an STI Spartan?

I've had the chance to examine three of those Norincos in the past three months; all of them were terrible. The last guy who let me examine his had just received a replacement because the first one was defective. The new one had a broken ejector right out of the box and so couldn't even cycle one shot. He was extremely frustrated and gave up. I believe he is now getting a Spartan. The fit of all was very poor, with springing of the barrel and triggers that were so bad that it made having a single action pistol a complete waste of time. A 1911 should not have a 8 or 12 lb trigger with lots of gritty creep. Sometimes a cheap gun is just a cheap gun.

While the CanadaAmmo deal on the Norinco is a good one,you really cant begin to compare a STI Spartan with a Norinco.

I agree. I have both and you can't compare. The Norinco shoots any ammo I give it, every time, and doesn't have to be cleaned before every trip to the range.
I bought two of the combo deals with the intent of selling the "runt". I was hard pressed to decide which one that was.
Trigger pulls were good on both Norincos, fit was OK and the finish was good enough for any range I go to.
With the right ammo, the Spartan is a tad more accurate, but when it comes to reliability, the Norinco wins out.
And whith no identifying markings, I can slap a pair of Kimber grips on it, and nobody's the wiser.;)

I'm still fairly new to mine but I love it. I shoot it as well as my S&W 586 which is saying a lot.

Only modification I made to it was to ditch the crappy plastic mainspring housing and put on an Ed Brown with magwell.

Does the Norinco have life time warranty and Canadian supplied parts in stock like the Spartan?

Although not the cheapest the Spartans, in my opinion seem to be the best bang for the buck around.

I took a course where only 2 1911's finished the course without issue, one was a Springfield, the other was a Spartan. I was impressed, pretty accurate gun too - though that's more the shooter than the gun.

I have the Spartan IV in .45.....bushingless bull barrel, nice tight slide, shoots like a laser beam, great buy, I'm still super impressed with it.
